Heavy focus on moving fast and Product pushes engineers to meet deadlines that are sometimes not reasonable. It leads to long hours and too much stress. Working as a junior and then a mid level engineer for Checkr, I find myself working longer and longer hours — often more than 50-60 hours a week. Depending upon what team you’re on, on-call shifts can be really stressful and you can get paged a lot throughout the nights and weekends.
