I refused to take the 10-minute HackerRank test and bailed on the process.

My resume, which includes links to YouTube videos, DZone articles, and Instructables, plus more than 10 years of experience, should have at least gotten me past an initial screening.

Additionally, I gave the recruiter a screenshot list of about 30 HackerRank programs that I had previously successfully completed.

They didn't seem interested. It seems they have a cookie-cutter approach to hiring, geared to someone with less experience.

Hiring is a two-way street, and the more one goes through it, the more one can learn a lot about the company from their hiring process.
