Process

The process begins with an HR phone screening. This call covers information about the company, benefits, and the position. They will also inquire about your experience and technical skills.

If you pass the HR screening, you'll proceed to a virtual video technical interview.

Successful candidates from the video interview will then have a day of onsite interviews. This typically consists of 2-4 technical and non-technical interviews. Unfortunately, I don't know the exact number of interviews, as I did not advance to the onsite stage.

The interview experience was positive and quite casual. It included an assessment of software skills and a technical component.

After the coding exercise, there was time to ask questions.

The interviewer was approachable and provided a good overview of working at the company and within the team.

The coding challenge was a joint HackerRank session, with the allowance to reference external online documentation.

I did not pass because I was under the impression the interview would focus on Java and OOP, and I prepared accordingly. However, the position was front-end, and I should have anticipated a focus on vanilla JS and CSS.

Tip: Focus on the fundamentals for the coding interview, and don't hesitate to ask for feedback from the interviewer. Always ask questions at the end of the interview.

Overall, it was a good experience, and I would likely apply again for a different position in the future.

Questions

Q: Describe a project that you worked on that you were passionate about.

Q: Describe a time when you had a disagreement with a colleague.

Q: Using Vanilla JS, CSS & Html, create a counter.

The counter will start when the page is loaded and will have two buttons. One button will stop the counter, and the other will reset it.
