Pros: Chime is the best SF startup I've worked for in terms of company culture, ability to make an impact, and do the best work of my career. * The product team is strong, and everyone truly cares about building the best possible financial tools for our members. Everyone is invested in hearing and following up on member feedback, engineers included. * Our leadership team has handled work from home during the COVID-19 outbreak with grace and empathy. Communication from the exec team is transparent. * A stable company that is actively growing during such an uncertain time period. The product and business plan is solid, and we're focusing on taking it to the next level as we scale. * Compensation is on par with top startups in SF, and we now have 401k match!

Cons: - Growing pains that come from increasing headcount quickly. - Tools and processes are still maturing as the company grows, so there is room for inefficiency and chaos. - Being a remote-first company is currently not part of Chime's DNA, so being 100% remote during COVID has had its share of collaboration challenges. - Representation of women and POC in the engineering org is not great (both at the IC and leadership level).

Pros: Nice colleagues. Cutting-edge technology to learn. Catered breakfast and lunch.

Cons: No vision from upper leadership. Stock down. Some burnt out, some coasting.

Pros: People here are nice to work with, and the company does care about the employees. We get an extra day off each month to relax and recharge because the company cares about our physical and mental health, especially during the pandemic. The company leadership team has a very clear goal and target for its business, and everything we do as an engineer is very goal/target driven. The company also hosts many events, both small groups and company level, to let us connect with each other. Everyone in the engineering org is also open to share ideas and help. Definitely a good place to work.

Cons: The company has 3 main offices: San Francisco, Chicago, and Vancouver. Some benefits are only available for US employees. (Overall, the benefit is still better than at other places I've worked.) Also, because the company is rapidly growing, there might be quite some re-orgs happening in the near future.
