The interview process began with a ubiquitous written round. This round comprised two sections: technical and aptitude.
The aptitude questions were witty and slightly confusing but ultimately solvable. The technical questions focused more on logic design and basic electronics, with a touch of networking. There were 50 questions in total (30 aptitude + 20 technical).
Selection for the next round was based on a relative cutoff. Approximately 250-300 people took the first test, and 60 were selected for the subsequent round.
The second round was a panel interview, which recruiters commenced immediately after announcing the results of the first round. My interview was conducted by a two-member panel. My performance in the first round was good, and my academic scores also contributed to a sense of comfort during the interview. Resumes had to be submitted before the interview began.
My primary subject of interest is networks, so I was directed to a panel with an interviewer well-versed in that field. I had stated my interests as networks and OS (operating systems). The panel members grilled me, testing my technical knowledge in these areas. They also asked questions about the projects I had mentioned in my resume. The technical questions ranged from basic to specific concepts. The interview lasted approximately 30-35 minutes.
I answered most of the questions (about 80-85%), providing detailed explanations where necessary. However, I had to admit "I don't know, Sir" to some questions.
After this initial interview, I was called back and asked about my final year project and my plans for future studies and career. This segment lasted for 10-15 minutes.
Following this, all candidates had to wait for about 3-4 hours while the remaining interview rounds were completed for all first-round selectees. Afterward, there was a casual HR interview. The questions were designed to test soft skills.
All these interview processes were conducted in a single day. After all stages were completed, the names of the final selectees were announced at midnight. Thirteen people were selected from our college; 8 were recruited for software engineering profiles (I was one of them), and the rest for IT profiles.
