Software Engineer Interview Experience - San Jose, California

December 1, 2011
Negative ExperienceNo Offer

Process

The first round consisted of a technical screen, which didn't have any programming. There were a few behavioral questions, one reasoning-based question (given a long sentence and asked what was wrong with it), and some technical questions about virtualization, cloud computing, threads, etc.

Then I was selected for a continuous 5-hour Webex session with five interviewers. The first interviewer didn't turn up for 1 hour and 20 minutes. The second and third went well. The fourth wasn't available too, so they said they would reschedule the other interviews. But they had sent a rejection in just an hour and a half.

Questions

How would you implement a router for as big a company as Cisco that would accommodate lots of IP addresses?
