My entire business unit in San Jose was laid off, all the way up to the VP level, without a solid reason.

Pros: Open and frequent dialogue at the top on company financial, social, and environmental impacts. Top management shows genuine care for employees and communities. Working here for 5+ years, it always amazes and impresses me how talented my teammates and Cisco employees are.
Cons: The frequent layoff is the biggest concern, but Cisco is trying something new recently to give higher priority for job openings to people impacted by layoffs due to exiting/resizing of products.
Given the pursuit and application of cutting-edge technologies, the schedule is always hard to predict, and hence work-life balance is always a challenge.
