Pros

Cisco is a very diverse company, in technologies, and the opportunity to work across these differing technologies is amazing, though results are rare.

There are many very smart people with broad backgrounds who can offer excellent insight into many things.

The overall balance of compensation, benefits, and work-life are all very good.

Cons

Cisco's primary innovation engine is acquisition, thus there are limited internal opportunities for big thinking.

Strict P&L management of business units makes it difficult for their respective GMs to invest in the future versus cost optimization.

Advice to Management

Continue on the current path. Evolve over time. Continue to be the 'mutual fund of technologies'. Acquire emerging technologies and markets. Embrace who you are and what you are good at.
