Good place to work
Cisco is a big, somewhat bloated company, but within that massive business, there are a few pockets of startup-like dynamic innovation. Like any mature company with a large installed product base, the opportunity to innovate can be a challenge. It just takes more people to motivate to take risks. That said, when you get the go-ahead, there are few better places to work. All the resources you need are available. There is real diversity and respect for all individuals.
It can take a lot of effort to get a green light.
And every large company suffers from internal politics of some nature.
Never underestimate the power of innovation. It improves morale, creates great products, and grows market share. It is the secret sauce.
