  • Excellent infrastructure (workspaces/labs/IT support/TAC) to support engineers.

  • Challenging technical work. Plenty of opportunities to work on problems faced by largest SP's and web OTT customers like AT&T/Verizon/Facebook/Google/Amazon etc.

  • Large pool of talented and experienced software and hardware professionals.

  • Great access to Cisco's global engineering talent.

  • Mgmt largely expects and values initiative and self-driven attitude from employees.

  • Only top performers are well taken care of in terms of overall compensation, equity grants/bonus etc.

  • Best employee transport system in Bangalore.

  • Flexi time. There is an opportunity to achieve work-life balance.

Looks like someone might pull the plug on this one soon :)

Cons

Pay viz a viz competition needs to be reviewed.

It's not clear to employees whether management considers loyal long-term employees as assets or liabilities.

Advice to Management

Desperately need role models in both the technical and management ladders.

Since the organization has grown, there is a risk of dilution in quality. Every senior grade must have competent people.

Only then will junior/new employees trust the fairness of the system, which could indirectly help reduce voluntary attrition and build the site's credibility in taking up more impactful and innovative work.
