Good food, flexible work hours, decent tools infrastructure.

Some good policies to keep the unruly management in check.

• Noisy open workspaces that do not allow anyone to concentrate, made under the guise of collaboration. However, everyone knows it's to save real estate.
• Toxic/micro-management that has no interest in growing the business unit.
• Unrealistic deadlines and compromises on quality, and scapegoating of engineers when issues are seen in production.
• Favouritism.
• Limited salary hikes.
• Management wastes engineers' time with pointless meetings and status updates, and expects work to be completed out of office hours.
• Not much technical work; usually, it involves firefighting with bad-quality code written in America.

Most of the managers remind me of Bill Lumbergh from Office Space.
