Great company benefits. No team building or feedback received

Pros

Good benefits at the company level: Birthday PTO, low insurance cost, and a "Day for Me." Great opportunities to volunteer with your select organizations or local events if you have a local office in your city/state. You can choose the latest laptop at onboarding.

Cons

If you are a person who likes to work in a modern collaborative team, e.g., an Agile team with Sprint activities, especially demo/retro to give and receive feedback/recognition, this company may not be for you.

The teams are usually driven by certain groups of people who have the invisible "authority" and "power".

The work is busy, but it's because of disorganized and non-feedback work. This is due to the nature of "solo" work, e.g., Guy A handles feature X and he is usually the only "go-to" person for X, no matter if there may be some better approach or at least some chances for Guy A to receive feedback.

Guy A won't likely know (and may not have time to care) what Guy B is working on.

Some partners (internal end users of our software) do not have a technical background but like to force you to do terrible work on their feedback.

Advice to Management

Need to balance between delivery and team building.
