The company in general treats people well. The benefits are comprehensive, the bonuses are generous, and the gym is nice. If you are in a good group, you can be mostly isolated from politics and bureaucracy.
The company has had a round of layoffs in 4 out of the last 6 years, IIRC. That said, they are saying that they don't want this to be the norm and appear intent on reducing the frequency of layoffs.
My location doesn't have the variety of opportunities for web development that there are in the San Jose headquarters. I have heard stories of some groups having mandatory overtime, but thankfully my management really protects work/life balance.
