Pros
  • Awesome people and culture, a lot of high-skilled people to learn from.
  • Always had good direct managers who were skilled and knew what to do when needed or to trust you when they could.
  • Lots of opportunities to work on different technology.
Cons

Any day at Cisco can be your last day, regardless of skill, talent, and performance. Unfortunately, this pressure is there all the time, especially with the almost yearly LR rounds.

In recent years, there have been a lot of decisions that are not making sense, leading to not having any product that leads the market anymore and a serious decline in support quality, even internally (saving on lab equipment, killing team after team, pushing talented people away, ...).

Advice to Management

Get back on track by either investing to become the market leader in some areas or to invest in decent support. Saving on both of these will make the company crumble down in the long term.
