Pros

Excellent compensation and benefits. Decent work environment. Generally good training opportunities, although not so great this year. Excellent benefits, and very nice recent improvements to family leave policies.

Cons

Internal support (e.g., IT support) is a complete train wreck.

For your product, expect regulation after regulation after regulation (all internal). A tendency to use low-quality internal tools instead of commercial ones.

Layoffs, layoffs, layoffs. Except you don't call them layoffs; you call them LRs.

Advice to Management

Terminate the entire "acquire, then LR, then rinse and repeat" cycle with extreme prejudice. Don't outsource internal support. Perform satisfaction surveys for every internal tool and replace the ones that don't work (i.e., most of them.)
