Pros
  • Good career opportunities
  • Work/Life balance is okay
  • Good for new joiners and college freshers
  • Learning is good
Cons
  • Very bad compensation for existing employees.
  • Once you are in, you will take years to grow in terms of salary. Senior management takes all the budget for themselves.
  • After 2 years, if you are lucky, you may get a 2% to 8% hike. The next hike will come again after 2 years, and that too will be the same percentage.
  • New joiners (or even college freshers) will get an almost 50% to 60% higher salary than a 6 to 7-year experienced person who is performing well and getting good appreciation.
  • HR is making so many rules for compensation or salary normalization, but there will always be no budget to implement them.
Advice to Management

Cisco always thinks about external customers but never thinks about internal customers (employees), especially in the Service Provider Group in India.

I am not the right person to advise, and even if I did, no one from management listens.
