Pros

Note: This is about Cisco Video Technologies.

It was okay before the Cisco acquisition, at least in terms of the limited technology they worked on.

It had the charm of a 'small' company before.

Cons

Note: This is about Cisco Video Technologies.

  1. Heavy politics and favoritism.
  2. Enormous number of managers, some with merely one or two direct reporting employees.
  3. After Cisco's acquisition, NDS (D) managers are struggling to keep their positions.
  4. Bonus, company shares, and other perks are only for those in a "well-connected" loop, meaning if you are your manager's favorite.
  5. Initial employees who played dirty politics during NDS days and had NDS EMP_No < 200 became managers. Do not expect etiquette or managerial skills from them.
  6. Layoffs.
  7. It is good that Cisco removed the Bell Curve. This tool was used by NDS managers to give big hikes only to their favorites.
  8. Work-wise, you will be doing repetitive work.
  9. If you are in a Manual QC job, this is going to be the end of your career (playing with a TV and remote).
  10. Basically, after Cisco's acquisition, managers are feeling the heat; their incompetence is brutally exposed.
