Cisco Systems, as a whole, have relative good performance over its life time.

Cons

One needs to find a good business unit within Cisco Systems. If not, the "Cisco" life will not be good.

Advice to Management

Senior Management should put the company's overall profit as the highest priority.

They should not just think inside of each business unit only.

They should promote more information and resource sharing across different business units.

They should try their best to keep people who work for them happy.

They should not just please their boss and forget these people who report to them.

They should try their best to keep good engineers with Cisco Systems instead of letting them leave Cisco.

They should not just think of the growth of their own team and their own political power within Cisco.

They should be open-minded and suggest their own team members to freely move around within Cisco Systems.

If so, it will attract more talented people to join their team.
