Pros

The Cisco Choice Program is an excellent program which gives new graduates the option of choosing the group they want to work for. Also, being a large company, there are hundreds of internal opportunities, and hence you need not look for a new job outside the company very often.

Cons

Being a large company, things are slow and old-fashioned for Gen Y. Cisco is a marketing/sales-driven company rather than an engineering-driven company, which makes things a little slower from a technology perspective.

Promotions and professional growth are slower, as most of the management is made up of technical leads who do not know much about managing people.

Advice to Management

Increase transparency and employee satisfaction.
