Telecommunications interest, lots of opportunities. Big company, so lots of business units if you don't fit well in just one. Communication from the top is transparent. The workplace is well managed. There is respect for work, though it could be better. The future looks good as the world's dependency on the internet grows.
Not a great salary, stocks are stuck for the long term. One or other excuse for cutting bonuses, raises, etc. There is no guaranteed annual raise. Cisco is always trying to cut corners so they don't have to pay the rank and file well. So compensation-wise, it's just average.
