Advice to Management

A company once dubbed an empire in Silicon Valley is today tottering. Thirteen years back, John Chambers said, "We would want to grow at double digits for the next decade." Revenue was then around $39 billion, and today it is hovering around $45 billion. So, John Chambers' dream did not come true. Only management and managers are responsible for it. There are a lot of mid-level managers in the organization doing nothing. They don't even pick up a waste paper and put it in the trash if found near a printer. Only storytellers! They think higher pay and bonuses are their privilege, and they come to the office to have lunch, coffee, and cigarettes. Well, if you hire and nurse storytellers, the only path ahead is you yourself becoming a story. Besides that, Silicon Valley's empire's crown has been taken away by someone known as "Apple," "Google," "Facebook"...!
