Great name recognition for your resume. Decent benefits.

Cons

It's a popularity contest through and through. An employee is graded on how well he/she kisses up to management, not performance or productivity. A person can be the most productive and the most technical member of the group and still end up at the bottom 5% for frivolous reasons. Managers only care about trimming the workforce. Annual layoffs are detrimental to productivity. They will do everything possible to break and humiliate you on your way out.

Advice to Management

Time to clean house up top. All Senior Directors and above should be purged.

Really cut the bloated middle management. Stop pushing the annual layoffs down to the worker bee level.

Managers, Directors, and VPs should not be immune from the purge.
