The working environment is pretty relaxed and easy in the legacy and matured product BU. You don't need to work more than 6 hours a day because most of the work is pretty routine. Work remotely from home and flexible working hours are allowed. Training and connections with women in tech help you to move up fast. A great place for females and Indians. You feel like home. A lot of loyal customers and it doesn't matter how far we are behind the competitors.
Layoffs happen across the BU and take place every year. A big layoff happens every 4 years. Company hierarchy is crazy. My reporting chain is me -> manager -> director -> VP -> VP -> VP -> SVP -> EVP -> CEO. It doesn't make sense to have so many VPs. Many new products are not generating revenue. Cloud does impact the hardware business, which is Cisco's bread and butter. There are too many similar products in the company, and they are fighting with each other. Collaboration between different BUs is not working well due to politics.
Please don't have layoffs every year. Make one deep, clean cut instead, because it hurts morale.
Please get rid of the political boundaries between BUs. There are just too many VPs and directors in the company, spending too much time on politics.
An OA (Online Assessment) is auto-generated just after application. Then, based on performance on the OA, you get a reach-out. These are followed by rounds such as technical, behavioral, and screening rounds. The screening is followed by technical ro
All technical questions: Domain knowledge: * Computer networks (How to get an IP address? What is PCIe? What is Ping?) C programming language: * Linked lists (Add node to the tail) * Bit manipulation (Function for set bit)
I completed two phone interviews. They asked basic questions, and nothing was too difficult. The interview mostly focused on past experience. It seemed a little impersonal, almost as if they were reading from a script.
