Pros
  • Good compensation (salary, bonus, ESPP, RSU, "connected recognitions", donation matching)
  • 25 vacation days a year + birthday
  • Respecting employees
  • Great compensation at layoffs
  • (For a few people) Varied career opportunity
Cons

The company lacks technological focus, agenda, or roadmap. It is being managed only by Sales and Finance people.

Very frequent layoffs (LR - Limited Restructuring).

No room for technological innovations, because the company expects very quick ROI, rather than long-term growth.

Cisco is very focused on its core business (network equipment) and doesn't care a lot about other stuff, as it is hard to compete with the income of its core business.

Poor HR and IT support - everything is self-serve, and long waits for overseas teams.

Advice to Management

Be personal!

Stop taking care of issues by assigning budgets to them. People like to be part of something, not only working in order to get money (or more money).

HR is not only about processes; it is about taking care of the employees.
