Pros

Stable company. Look at optimizing product groups with clearer decision-making and better integration of product management and engineering. At the end of the day, product groups (including marketing and engineering) are still 20-70 people, very manageable units. You don't have to concede product development to competitors. Too much compromise.

Cons

compensation and career advancement. Only lateral movement, moving from one group to the other, is an absolutely ridiculous policy.

There should really be an incentive for people to move from one position to the other.

I did a prestigious MBA program, and then when I finished, there was absolutely no upside to move within Cisco. The HR department did not find an easy way for me to find a new and exciting opportunity. So I left.
