Pros: Stable Hard working

Cons: Developer tooling is not great. It takes time to adopt new tools. The company could be moving faster if using more AI.

Pros: The business is well run fiscally. This can be seen by, to date, no layoff rounds and incredibly healthy financial metrics. There is a large amount of autonomy if you build trust with leadership that you can produce the right impact. People actually care. They care about the quality of their work, and they care about their colleagues.

Cons: The company continues to grow and get wealthier. This is seen in initiatives like sponsoring the Canucks and bringing the whole company together for a company-wide all-hands. But this simply isn't being reflected in investments that would make the day-to-day lives of employees better. Right now, the benefits package at Clio has not seen a major revision in several years. While we can and should continue to focus on flashy, public-facing expenditures, it would be really reassuring to see some of this money reinvested directly back into doing simple improvements for the people actually making this company so successful.

Pros: - Have worked with some of the smartest folks I've had the pleasure of working with in my career. - A great product.

Cons: - Be very wary; they have pulled the rug on 1,000 employees with regard to remote work agreements recently, and they will probably do it again. - The recent mandatory RTO announcement and removal of a wellness benefit have destroyed trust in Senior Leadership. Up to this point, I had a large amount of trust in Jack, but the RTO announcement comes with a very clear lack of empathy for the 1,000 people who have made him successful. It is no longer possible to support his leadership. (In announcing a salary cut for everyone at the company, the CEO also spoke about buying Christmas gifts for his family in one of the biggest moments of cognitive dissonance I have ever seen. Coupled with his regular updates on how fantastic the C-level offsites in luxurious locations are, I cannot in good faith recommend or condone Jack as a competent leader.) - Given the recent changes above, I cannot recommend Clio as a place to work. I believe they will make further mandates regarding RTO and potentially reduce other benefits.
