I received an email to schedule a phone interview a day after I submitted my application. I was to choose a pre-selected day and time that was most convenient for me.

On that day, the interviewer called me as scheduled. The phone call lasted about 7 minutes. After the first 15 seconds that the interviewer heard my voice on the phone, it was pretty obvious that the interviewer did not want to continue the conversation. Instead of taking the time to ask me one question at a time, the interviewer asked me 5 questions all rolled up into one big question, which I felt was to eliminate me and just to “get this over with”. Of course, I answered all the questions, but it was a long answer. Afterwards, I felt that the interviewer was not listening to me the entire time. It was unprofessional, to say the least.

I asked what the next steps in the interview process would be. The interviewer replied and said to send a follow-up email at the end of the week if I didn't hear back from them. I am not sure why it is my responsibility to call back. At the end of the week, I received an email saying that I was not the right fit. It was very disheartening, considering I have the skills and the experience listed in the job description. I felt that I was discriminated against because of the sound of my voice over the phone.
