It took about two weeks.
First, an HR call.
Then, a call with the hiring manager, and I was asked to do a technical take-home assignment, which I was not selected for.
Build a simple Python app by calling the Cohere Chat API and complete the following tasks:
First Task: Write an API endpoint that takes a textual user query, calls the Cohere Chat API, and returns the response. For example, a user query could be, “Who was the second person to walk on the moon?”
To call the Cohere Chat API, please use this reference: https://docs.cohere.com/v2/reference/chat. Sign up and get a trial API key here: https://dashboard.cohere.com/welcome/login.
Second Task: Building upon this endpoint, we want this generation to use information from Wikipedia. Add a Wikipedia tool. When the model generates a call to Wikipedia, the endpoint calls the tool and gives the results back to another chat call, returning the final generation to the user.
Please see the Wikipedia spec here and more details on tool calling here.
Third Task: Implement a new API endpoint to retrieve and return a complete history of user input queries and their corresponding model-generated responses.
