Backend Software Engineer Interview Experience - United States

April 1, 2022
Negative ExperienceGot Offer

Process

New grad position.

CodeSignal OA led directly to a 2-hour technical onsite (1 hour each).

Onsite interviewers were great. Questions were LeetCode Easy/Medium with follow-ups. We also had general chatting about our backgrounds.

An offer was extended.

However, the offer was rescinded three weeks before my start date due to company financial troubles. I was given 2 months' severance. Highly disappointed.

I'd rather my offer get put on hold than rescinded. Maybe they'll let me bypass onsites for a future opening, but I'm not sure if I'd bother with this company a second time.

Questions

NDA, so I can't post questions.

LeetCode, easy to medium difficulty, including follow-ups.

Be able to explain different solutions (not only optimal). Try to reuse code during follow-ups. Think of edge cases.
