Pros: There are many people with knowledge and willingness to share it; the folks doing the work are pretty friendly. Benefits are better than average. Very interesting technologies to work with / problems to solve.

Cons: Political savvy is the most critical element of your success. While technology is very interesting, the political situation seems to determine most outcomes. Relentlessly focused on quarterly financial reports, delivering service seems to be a hassle on the way to making money. (No shame in this, but some organizations demonstrate real passion for their business; the passion has been squeezed out of most of the folks by now.) Minor value placed on working as a team. A savvy and loud individual will get ahead and do well, even with poor technical skills.

Pros: WLB is awesome, with little benefits.

Cons: Lag in learning and career growth, but based on the team.

Pros: Will find good work-life balance.

Cons: Not many cons from my experience.
