I have my first-round interview scheduled at Confluent, and the interview panel is full of juniors with around 2 years of experience. They come with a set of problems/questions in mind. The funny part is that they struggle to explain the problems clearly so that the candidate can understand, and they cannot answer the questions asked by the candidate.
Since they are given a set of questions, they lack the patience to listen to the candidate's answers or approach. Instead, they just present the problems without waiting for the candidate's response.
When they ask the candidate to write down their implementation, they don't have the basic common sense to wait for the implementation to complete. Instead, they immediately shoot out more "out-of-the-box" questions.
They were not ready to provide sample input for our understanding.
