I interviewed for two Senior Manager positions, both in engineering. After the interviews, I realized I didn’t want to work for Crowdstrike.
Crowdstrike is a remote-first company, and I assumed there would be a focus on communication to keep things on track. My would-be manager stated they "hated meetings" (exact words) and tried to speak as little to their employees as possible. They also mentioned that their employees "got used to it."
The second interviewer, while looking experienced in management at other companies according to their LinkedIn, didn’t seem very knowledgeable overall. Strangely, they asked me several programming design-related questions, despite this being a Senior Manager role.
I've been watching Crowdstrike for years and was excited at the prospect of working there. However, with the current management, I don’t think I’ll be going there anytime soon.
Tell me about a situation with an underperforming employee and how you handled it.
