A coding assessment was given early in the process. The process ended with a comprehensive presentation showcasing all of the skills required to perform well in the role. All references provided were checked with a 15-minute call at the end.
Hiring the wrong person for a role can be expensive for any organization. While the amount of assessment at first seemed long and difficult, it has made me respect Databricks even more as a company that ensures each employee is properly vetted.
