Complete waste of time with zero respect for its candidates.

tl;dr of this post: If you're a recruiter, don't be like SA (his initials). If you are Databricks, you should be ashamed to have a recruiter like him.

I was reached out to by a "Technical Sourcer" from Databricks in June, who said they were interested in me as a software engineer. I wasn't actively looking, but sure, I responded saying I was interested.

For two weeks, I replied a few times asking if they were still interested in setting up a time to chat. Then I received this response:

"Apologies for not getting back to you sooner.

We had a couple of onsites for this role last week and are in the process of moving forward with both of them, hoping to bring one of them on board. Alas, timing is everything in recruiting. I wish you the best in 2018 and look forward to crossing paths in the future."

And guess what? A month later, I received this email. I got the same email from the same person, saying they saw my profile and thought I would be a good fit. Are you kidding me? What do you think I am – your backup option?

Complete waste of time and total disrespect for its candidates.

If you are a recruiter, don't be like SA at Databricks. I'm not even sure if he's a real person since I can't find him on LinkedIn.
