Process

It was overall a pleasant experience. The recruiter reached out after each stage to provide an update and next steps. The process was lengthy, lasting around 2 months.

  1. Recruiter call (30 mins) - Basic questions on experience, technical skills, and expectations.
  2. Hiring Manager interview (45 mins) - A more detailed interview with the hiring manager about why Databricks, certain scenarios/behavioral questions related to client/customer facing experiences, and technical skills/experiences.
  3. Technical Exercise - A take-home exercise to be completed over a few days using Databricks (NDA signed).
  4. Technical Interview (1 hour) - An interview on technical knowledge, focusing more on breadth and the ability to explain core concepts.
  5. Presentation/Panel Interview (1 hour) - A presentation on a previous project with technical aspects, delivered to a panel of 4-5 business and technical stakeholders. There were a couple of preparation sessions before this.
  6. Director call (30 mins) - An interview with the director to understand the role, including some questions on experience.
  7. Feedback/offer (30 mins) - This was primarily a feedback call with the recruiter and hiring manager.
