A Databricks recruiter reached out to me on LinkedIn and asked me to interview for the role. The recruiter said the role would focus on creating custom analytics solutions with Python and SQL, which seemed like a good fit for my background.
The next step was an hour-long screen with the hiring manager. They rattled off a couple of questions about Spark and a few networking tools I hadn't heard of, none of which was mentioned in the job description or discussed in the recruiter screen. The hiring manager was fairly rude and abruptly ended the interview after 15 minutes.
A few days later, I got an email from the recruiter stating that they wouldn't move forward because "[insert brief reason]". Apparently their recruiting team can't even fill out their own email template.
Overall, this was one of the least professional interviewing experiences I have had.
Asked about random technologies not mentioned in the JD.
