Process
Easy questions; they asked in-depth questions about a project that I had to verbally present.
Then, they asked 3 LeetCode-style questions, around LeetCode easy to medium. They asked me to explain the time complexity of my solutions, and they were very kind when I made mistakes.

Great place to work
Senior Software Engineer • Current Employee
Seattle, WA
November 16, 2025
Pros: There are tons of smart, thoughtful people working at Datadog. The product is complex, so the problems are very interesting. There is always a lot to do and a lot to learn.
Cons: As the company grows, it is normal for priorities to shift toward keeping shareholders and big customers happy. I sometimes think that can hamper innovation, despite ultimately being good for business.

Datadog is a good place to work (with a few asterisks)
Software Engineer I • Current Employee
Paris, France
December 17, 2024
Pros: Work is interesting (but it depends on the team; I've heard great and not-so-great stories).
A good percentage of people believe in the vision of the company.
The in-office environment is pretty good.
Cons: Culture is changing. It feels like everyone says, "It used to be better."
No remote policy while still being on an extremely distributed team (i.e., everyone in the office, but no one in the same office).

A relaxed and easygoing place to work
Software Engineer • Former Employee
San Francisco, California, United States
April 13, 2021
Pros: Good place to work with, not much crunch. Relaxed atmosphere to the point where my manager would "go out" in the middle of the afternoon and come back noticeably high.
Cons: He wouldn't share any of his bud.
