I was contacted by HR, and after an initial interview, a home task was sent.
After completing the home task, they shared their view about it, which was positive.
Then, I was invited to a technical interview with one QA and one former QA (currently a BE Engineer) to discuss the home task and some technical topics.
There wasn't a single question about the home task! How I made it, how it could be done better, my coding, etc. – nothing.
Instead, they asked me to write a JS function to check if text is a palindrome. This felt irrelevant. They explained they needed to do this to ensure people weren't cheating. So, be prepared to be considered a "cheater" after spending your valuable hours on their task.
After spending some years in QA, learning Node.js should be very interesting to the interviewer, so he wanted to promote this amazing achievement of himself.
HR was very professional, but the tech interview was a disaster. I am pretty sure they had no idea about my home task.
