I applied online. The process took 4 weeks.

Ghosted after call with hiring manager.
No response from recruiter after several follow ups.
Not sure what happened, but they seem overwhelmed with the amount of candidates they are interviewing.
Applied through website, recruiter reached out.
Took about 2 weeks after providing availability to schedule initial call.
Scheduled second call with hiring manager fairly quickly.
Did not hear back after second call with hiring manager.
Followed up with recruiter, and also did not hear anything back.

Pros: - The company's product and the day-to-day work is substantive, and Deepgram is building a product that has real value for the world; as employees, we can feel this because we're not building a silly app, and the challenges before us are not trifling. - There is still more work to do than people to do it, and as employees, we have a great deal of individual ownership of the projects we work on; this can be either empowering and liberating, or stressful and lonely, depending on one's personal needs and motivations. - Deepgram is still a startup, and hence still needs to be extremely nimble and responsive in the face of events and developments in the software (particularly the AI) world; this can be either fun and exciting, or disorienting and frustrating, again depending on personal needs and motivations.

Cons: - Remote work; Deepgram's employees who are spread out geographically, and there are few opportunities for in-person work and collaboration; when you work with such awesome people, it sucks not to be able to break bread together at lunch, or have a beer after work. - The pay that isn't as much as it would be for similar positions at big tech companies.
