Senior QA Tester Interview Experience - Amsterdam, Netherlands

Process

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks.

First talk with HR, she was very enthusiastic about my background and was really rooting for me. Second talk with current Team Lead, I thought we really clicked, it was a very pleasant talk. Took about 1 hour. Third talk was with a developer and two testers, it lasted 3 whole hours... For a QA position, not even a senior one. Very silly questions, like "How would you test a vacuum", while I already have more than 6 years of QA experience in different companies.

Of course after 3 hours of non-stop questions I was knackered and probably made some mistakes. No technical questions though, all of them were very generic, as if they had just downloaded a list of questions off the internet. Terrible experience.

After that, and even though the recruiter was calling me throughout the process to see how it was going and really pumping me up, at the end I got a very generic rejection email ("your qualifications do not match our expectations" type of thing) without further explanation. When I reached out to ask for further feedback I never heard back. Seriously one of the worst interviews ever.
