They do respect the work/life balance.
Dell is shifting into a bigger software company. If you are a software engineer, there is no shortage of cool challenges to work on.
I feel that compensation is good.
Some software teams are a little bit siloed. You have to make an active, ongoing effort to connect with other teams outside of your own to get traction. Not necessarily a con, just understand this current dynamic.
Offices feel a bit dated.
Create new working spaces for software engineers to work in.
Inspiring environments with nice views definitely help with a setting of getting great work done.
Find ways to get the right software teams to talk to each other.
Teams that are located around the country are a bit hard to connect with in terms of communication.
Maybe video conferences might alleviate this.
