Great work/life balance. I have remote status with a home office when I'm not on the road, which is 25-50% of the time for travel. I love it. Lots of vacation time and personal time, even if I need to take the kids to the doctor. Dell gives me lots of training. It keeps me current.
It's a big company. I've had friends laid off without warning. So, always be careful and track your performance. Don't be caught off guard.
Dell Services will pigeonhole you. Techies stay in tech. PMs are not technical. Neither are people managers. Each of these roles is separated. There is a lot of overhead on each project and a lot of middle management. It's tough to break out into a management track. But, if it does happen, look out.
Everything a manager does is focused on that VP track. So, there can be a disconnect between management and the people that actually do the real work that makes the money (where the rubber meets the road).
