Initially a rewarding place to work, but everything went downhill after the dot-com bubble burst

Pros

Fun place to work (if you have a good manager). You're always working with the latest technology. Pay and benefits are pretty good. Casual work environment.

Cons

Most managers are focused on empire/career building, not their direct reports. Some managers shamelessly take credit for all positive work efforts. Terrible job security (because the CEO is moving everything to China/India). Dell is stubbornly devoted to using crappy Microsoft software for everything.

Advice to Management

Stop being so obsessed with quarterly results and focus on long-term growth.
