Had a “phone interview” where I was quickly asked my motivation for applying and then promptly offered a group interview the next week.

Group interview was over Zoom for the pandemic. HR ran a general info session with casual presentations and Q&As from recent graduates, while candidates going for similar roles were put into breakout rooms to do the group activity. This was a standard consulting activity where there is no right answer, but they want to see your decision-making and presentation skills.

Final interview was with a partner of the team who was extremely late, condescending, and seemed to completely ignore my discussion with the manager in the previous interview regarding the nature of the work I wanted to do in the role. I had to politely remind him that I had applied to a $65k grad analyst job at Deloitte, not as a software engineer, which is what he was looking for.

I was pretty annoyed, for both interviews I had been asked to “dress the part,” yet all staff except HR were zooming from home in hoodies. All estimates of “responses” for next interviews, etc., were off by more than a week with no communication.

Finally, despite Deloitte constantly going on about the “quality” of the feedback they provide their applicants, I received absolutely none after the partner interview, despite being offered the option of receiving some in the “application unsuccessful” email I received and following this up with the HR contact. Huge red flags for me.
