Process

I was contacted via email.

I was then given a code challenge to finish.

That was as far as I made it (see my interview questions below).

I was informed, however, that after that was a chat with a team lead and an onsite meeting.

Questions

Create a small app powered by React, Flux, and CSS Flexbox. The app should feature a button on the screen labeled "Open".

Clicking this button will open a modal, which will be:

  • Centered in the middle of the screen.
  • Always take up 60% of the screen width and 80% of the screen height.
  • Have an open and close scale animation.

Inside this modal:

  • There will be a tab bar on the left, taking up 20% of the modal's width.
  • A content area will take up the remaining 80% of the modal's width.
  • Each tab's content area will be a simple textarea where users can type.
  • Users should be able to add or remove tabs (the design is up to you).
  • A close button will be present.

If the modal is closed or the page is refreshed, it should reopen with its previous state, including the last selected tab.

Additionally, a "number of tabs" counter should be displayed next to the "Open" button.
