Process
Do not waste time with Discord. They are extremely specific with what they want without telling you what they want.
My interviewer was very happy at the end of the interview, told me "good job," and my code passed all test cases he asked me to do. Then, after a few days, I received a rejection email. Total waste of time.
Check other reviews on Glassdoor as well; they say the same thing.

Discord Work Experiences
- 4.0Good work-life balance so farSenior Software Engineer • Current EmployeeSan Francisco, California, United StatesJanuary 9, 2024Pros: I know how things work, so there isn't much pressure for work.Cons: Still no clear IPO plan.
- 1.0Toxic work environment. Don't waste your good years working hereSenior Software Engineer • Current EmployeeDecember 9, 2023Pros: - ICs are quite talented and helpful. Opportunity to work with smart, fun people. - Still seen as a good company to work for externally.Cons: Culture is the worst I've seen from over a decade in this industry. No work/life balance due to high growth expectations combined with leadership thrashing projects much more than you see at other companies. Leadership acknowledges burnout, but that's it. Acknowledge and move on is what they provide. Common practice to be brutally honest without regard for people's hard work. It's seen as some badge of honor, mostly across OGs in the company.
- 5.0Great culture but occasional lack of focusSenior Software Engineer • Former EmployeeSan Francisco, CAApril 17, 2026Pros: There was an awesome culture, great team members, and a great exec team.Cons: There was some lack of focus and product thrash.
