I had a similar experience to the rest of the folks here. The interviewer rattled off the problem as fast as he could, as if this was the 100th time he'd asked it. Fair enough.
I had to slow him down repeatedly to gather all the requirements and to understand what the problem was.
Then I discussed the approach, got buy-in, and solved it with working code within one hour, with all test cases running! I got a rejection the next day.
