Software Engineer Interview Experience

Process

The interview was supposed to have two questions, but the interviewer spent almost 30 minutes chatting about my introduction (which wasn't finished, as I was asked several questions).

Then there was a standard coding challenge, for which my performance wasn't great. However, the standard coding challenge had a variant that broke its logic, and the interviewer ignored my assumptions repeatedly without providing any further clarification.

The interviewer was not paying attention during the interview; for a good five minutes, they did not reply to my question.

Even if my coding challenge had been good, I wouldn't have had a chance to finish the second question, which wasn't even asked.

Overall, a very unpleasant experience and a waste of time.

Questions

Standard LeetCode coding challenge, with a variant.
