Not all teams have good work culture. Being an SDET in particular sucks. There are emails from release managers/on-call personnel on every Saturday/Sunday asking you to investigate failures. Work-life balance is poor, and a lot of folks, being in their first job or without family commitments, seem to be fine with it. SDET management is political and condescending. There is favoritism and a lack of transparency. It seems that both Seattle and SF are equally bad.
