A hiring manager from one of the engineering teams reached out to me, and we hopped on a call back in November 2021. Because of the holidays, I had to reschedule the technical interview for January 2022. I had the onsite a week after the technical.
I chose the front-end route, so the technical interview involved implementing a React application for an image carousel. I wasn't super familiar with React, but the interviewer worked with me on that aspect, telling me when I could use certain hooks and syntax.
There were four interviews during the onsite:
I was pleasantly surprised by the system design interview. It felt structured and focused on how to design particular responses of a specific application, rather than a more general problem statement focusing on databases or technologies. I really appreciated that there were no LeetCode questions and it was more of a test of practical knowledge. It was also language-agnostic; even though there was a test in React, they made an effort to help if you weren't familiar with it.
Overall, the interviewers were friendly and helpful. The recruiters were very prompt and professional. It was a very pleasant experience.
Given a mock, implement it (JS + CSS).
